This study day will explore the meaning of spirituality on both a personal and professional level and examinse ways of integrating spiritual care into everyday clinical practice.

This course should be of interest to social workers, allied health professionals and nursing staff. The day will focus on initiating difficult conversations with families in explaining to children that a parent/relative is dying. It will also address the child's understanding of dealth, direct work with children and relevant bereavement theories. The day is planned to be interactive with the oppertunity for participants to bring some of their own work issues for discussion.

The aim of this course is to provide participants with an awareness of grief and its impact on ourselves and others. The course is open to members of the public who in the course of their work or church life etc. offer support to bereaved relatives or friends.

This study day will provide practical advice and information for nursing, nursing auxiliary, nursing home and catering staff on the appropriate provision of food and fluids for patients in their last years of life.
